Coleshill Operatic Society
History
A Brief History of Coleshill Operatic Society
Formed in 1908, Coleshill Operatic and Dramatic Society's first production was 'HMS Pinafore' by Gilbert & Sullivan. With only a few breaks during the war years, the Society has put on shows every year since then. Since 1979 the venue for the major show of the year has been the Solihull Arts Complex Theatre, formerly the Library Theatre. Rehearsals and some concerts are held at Coleshill Town Hall which has been the base for the Society since the hall was built in 1926.
The Society has been a member of NODA for over 70 years and we are proud to display the NODA crest.

Throughout our recent history (last 60 years or so!) the Society has been run by a committee of dedicated people who receive no payment for their work and who administer the Society's funds to help further the aims of the Society. We also have a number of sponsors and patrons who give us financial and practical help throughout the season.
